Turkish Statistical Institute | Over 35,000 Apartments Sold to Foreigners in 2023
According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the sales of residential apartments to foreigners in Turkey during 2023 exceeded 35,000 apartments. During the month of December of the same year, the number of apartments sold to foreigners reached 2,064 units, representing 1.5% of the total sales in the country. Meanwhile, the sales of residential apartments to foreigners during 2023 totaled 35,005 units, accounting for 2.9% of the total residential apartment sales in Turkey during the previous year.
Antalya Leads Annual Sales to Foreigners in Turkey
In the details of the data, Istanbul ranked first among Turkish provinces in the sale of residential apartments to foreigners during the last month of 2023, with 796 apartments sold. Antalya province came in second place with the sale of 609 residential apartments, while Mersin province ranked third with 230 apartments sold.
In the annual sales, Antalya province topped the Turkish provinces in the sale of residential apartments to foreigners, with 12,702 apartments sold during 2023. Istanbul province came in second place with 11,299 apartments sold, while Mersin province ranked third with 3,016 apartments sold during the same period.
Russians Top the List of Nationalities Purchasing Apartments in Turkey in 2023
Regarding the classification of foreign nationalities according to their purchases of residential apartments in Turkey during 2023, Russians ranked first as the nationality purchasing the most residential apartments during the last month of the previous year, purchasing 527 residential apartments. Iranians came in second place with the purchase of 205 residential apartments, and Ukrainians ranked third with the purchase of 113 residential apartments.
As for annual sales, Russians also topped the list of foreign nationalities purchasing residential apartments in Turkey during 2023, buying 10,560 residential apartments. Iranians came in second place with the purchase of 4,272 residential apartments, while Iraqis ranked third with the purchase of 1,917 residential apartments during the previous year.
